The Quality Enhancement Committee promotes institutional-wide engagement to advance student learning and enhance the quality of Texas A&M University-Commerce graduates. The Committee oversees compliance with Core Requirement 2.12 of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in regard to the Foundations of Quality Enhancement. The Committee adheres to the belief that Quality Enhancement must proceed beyond compliance to provide the best possible learning experience for Texas A&M University-Commerce students and graduates.
2011 Summit on Global e-Learning
To kick off our Quality Enhancement Plan, Texas A&M University-Commerce and the QEP committee hosted a very successful Summit on Global eLearning. This three-day conference brought together university faculty, staff, regional educators, suppliers, and government organizations to focus on new ways to think, collaborate, and utilize cutting-edge innovations in learning systems, digital learning content, learning enterprise, and open technologies. November 9-11, 2011, over 125 conference attendees gathered instrumental knowledge and opened the dialog to improve student achievement and learning.
We were fortunate to have an extensive and entertaining panel of speakers. And, we were honored to have Dr. Raymund Paredes, Commissioner of Higher Education, Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, present on how schools, colleges, and universities can work together to create a greater Texas and Dr. Rudy Jackson, Vice President Commission on Colleges, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), shared ideas on regional accreditation in a digital environment.
A&M-Commerce looks forward to hosting another summit next year which will focus on arts and humanities.
