Carrington

Jace Carrington grew up in the mid-50’s in a farming community with limited resources.  It was only through his service in the United States military and subsequent GI bill that he was able to attend college.

“The GI bill gave me the financial means to attend college,” he said. “I have not forgotten the opportunity to receive my degree with this financial source, so I am motivated to help interested and qualified students have the same opportunity through the Tejas-Sig EP scholarship endowment. I have a deep motivation to give back so others have the same opportunity to receive a college education.”

After earning his B.S. in education from A&M-Commerce in 1961, Jace began working at Texas Instruments, a position he held for 31 years.

Carrington’s generous giving is evident through the Gold Blazer award he won in 2005 and his membership on the A&M-commerce Foundation board.

“I am grateful to be associated with alumni leaders who view giving to A&M-Commerce as a privilege.”

left quoteMy involvement with A&M-Commerce has given me an enriched sense of purpose. My wife Susan and I have enjoyed the friendships we’ve made through our association with the university. It has been fulfilling to realize our gifts have encouraged students to obtain a higher education.right quote
