Generous Gift a Crescendo to a Life Well Lived
COMMERCE, Texas (Jan. 13, 2012)— As a music student at Texas A&M University-Commerce, Yvonne Polson Clements of Atlanta, TX, spent hours practicing the piano in the university’s former music building. Thanks to her recent gift to the Texas A&M University-Commerce Foundation, future students will learn to play beautiful music in the new music building’s piano practice room named in her honor.
Clements, an alumna of Texas A&M University-Commerce, earned a bachelor’s degree in music in 1960. Today, Clements owns and operates Clements Oil in Atlanta, TX. She and her daughter, Carol Ann Clements of Dallas, TX, also own and operate a ranch in Miller County, Ark. Last year at this same time Mrs. Clements created the Robert S. Clements Memorial Endowment to provide scholarships to students majoring in Agriculture at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
