12.99.99.R0.04 Awarding of Diploma by Faculty to a Family Member

Effective: August 2001

1. Regular members of the Texas A&M University-Commerce faculty may request of the President of the University, permission to present an earned diploma from A&M-Commerce, to a member of the faculty member's immediate family.
a. The request should be made in writing to the Chairperson of the Commencement Committee at least 30 calendar days prior to the Commencement date.
b. Immediate family is defined to include only spouse, sons or daughters.

2. Variance from this procedure as stated in #1 above would only be granted in extraordinary circumstances.
a. The request must be made in writing directly to the President at least 30 calendar days prior to the Commencement date.
b. The President will notify the Commencement Committee Chair and the requestor of the final decision.
