12.99.99.R0.06 Professional Status of Librarians

Effective: September 1, 1996

Revised: January 29, 1997

1. Texas A&M University-Commerce librarians have professional status, but are not eligible for faculty rank or tenure. Salary and benefit opportunities in the state and optional retirement programs are made clear at the time of employment.

2. All professional librarians hold full membership in the Faculty Senate along with the university faculty.

3. All professional librarians are eligible to serve on university committees and participate in academic processions. They are represented on the Deans Council by the library director.
