Graduate Assistantships

A limited number of Graduate Assistantships are available on a competitive basis in the department. Students should first visit the graduate school website for information on the qualifications, expectations and benefits of a Graduate Assistantship at A&M-Commerce.

Undergraduate Programs

The department offers several different options to Undergraduate students. Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degree programs are available in Sociology or Criminal Justice, as well as programs in Sociology with either a Global or Criminology emphasis. Students can also choose to minor in either Sociology or Criminal Justice if they do not want to major in one of these areas.

Graduate Programs

The department offers two options for graduate students seeking to further their education in Sociology or Criminal Justice: a Masters degree in Sociology and a Criminal Justice Management Certificate.

To apply for a Graduate Assistantship in Sociology & Criminal Justice, applicants will need to submit the following to our department:

  1. A hard copy of the Graduate Assistantship application
  2. A resume
  3. Two letters of recommendation

Students who apply for Teaching Assistantships must have earned 18 semester hours in the discipline they will be teaching prior to their appointment.
