Bill Martin Jr Symposium
Friday, May 4, 2012
Watch here for links to our post-Symposium Survey! We need to hear your feedback.
Our Keynote Speaker this year is Jim Aylesworth, author of more than 30 children's books. Jim Aylesworth's books were written to be read aloud. They are filled with the things that Jim has learned that children like -- especially rhythm, rhyme and repetition. Some are ABC books, some are fantasies, some are based on folk tales or Mother Goose rhymes, and some are bedtime stories. www.Ayles.com

Featured Presenters will include co-authors Alma Flor Ada www.AlmaFlorAda.com & Isabel Campoy www.IsabelCampoy.com. They write children's books and books for teachers, like us, people who are interested in Latino children's literature in the classroom. One of Alma Flor Ada's books, Magical Encounters, is often used as a textbook in our ESL/Bilingual courses. This book is the product of forty years working with classroom teachers to bring the enjoyment of literature to their students.
