Nancy Ruth Lenoir Scholarship

The Office of Graduate Studies and Research has funds to support scholarships on a competitive basis for masters, specialist, and doctoral students who are in the final stage of completing their thesis or dissertation. These scholarships are for students who plan to spend the majority of the fall 2010 or spring 2011 completing their thesis or dissertation and plan to graduate at the end of the fall or spring semester.

Scholarship Award
Each scholarship award will be one time, one term for $500. If you are receiving financial aid during the term of the scholarship award, there may be a need to adjust the total financial aid award.  Please contact the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships (903-886-5096) for additional information about how this scholarship may affect financial aid.   Please note that scholarship funding is limited and only complete applications will be reviewed by a committee for final award determination.  It is important that your complete application packet be submitted by the deadline of June 28, 2010.

Eligible students must:

  • Be a master's, specialist, or doctoral student in good academic standing at A&M-Commerce
  • Have a thesis or dissertation proposal finished and approved by the Office of Graduate Studies and Research
  • Be enrolled in at least three (3) hours of thesis (518) or dissertation (718) during the term of the award, fall 2010 or spring 2011

Application Process

Submit a package, which includes the following documents to the Scholarship Office:

  • This completed application form and Scholarship Office application,
  • Two-page (maximum) description of the project in non-technical language, stressing the work that will be completed over semester of the award
  • Current resume/vita
  • Supporting letter from major adviser verifying that the student is in the final stage of his/her thesis or dissertation (may be emailed directly to Vicky Turner at Graduate School)
