5 Steps to Apply (Freshman and Transfer)

Step One - Join Our Mailing List
Request information about the degree programs that interest you most. A&M-Commerce offers more than 90 undergraduate degrees as well as special programs designed to provide the support you need to accomplish your dreams. Our admissions counselors want to do everything they can to help you learn about A&M-Commerce so it will be easy to apply, attend, and achieve.
Step Two - Experience A&M-Commerce
Visit campus to experience college life for yourself. You can meet with world-class professors who are interested in your success, step inside our classrooms, and meet other students. We’ll give you a personal tour of our facilities, including our state-of-the-art science building and planetarium, new Student Center, impressive recreation center, and more.
Step Three - Apply Now!
Apply online. Start by completing the ApplyTexas Application at applytexas.org and list A&M-Commerce as a recipient. The ApplyTexas application is used to apply to any public 2-year or 4-year institution in the state of Texas.
Along with your application, you’ll need to send official high school transcripts or GED scores, and an official copy of your SAT or ACT test scores. Transfer students should also send an official copy of their college transcripts.
During this difficult economic time, Texas A&M University-Commerce is deferring the payment of your application fee. When you enroll in courses at Texas A&M University-Commerce, the $25 fee will be charged to your account.
Step Four - Register for ACT or SAT
A&M-Commerce accepts either the SAT or the ACT. To meet automatic admission requirements, you must score a 920 or higher on the SAT and/or a 20 or higher on the ACT. Transfer applicants must have a GPA of a 2.0 or higher, if they have 21 or more transferable hours. To learn more about other admission categories refer to the Undergraduate Catalog.
Step Five - Officially Become Prt of the Lion Family!
Attend orientation. Once you’ve been accepted as a student at A&M-Commerce and completed your testing requirements, you’ll need to attend a two-day orientation session. It’s the first step in registering for classes.
