The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships has offices in the Student Access and Success Center/One Stop Shop (903.886.5096). You may contact the office through email at Scholarships@tamu-commerce.edu.

Scholarships and Other Resources

Scholarships, and other resources (Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitation, Veterans Benefits, Exemption Waivers, and other gift aid), must be considered when you are awarded Financial Aid because the aid package cannot exceed the cost of attendance. It is important to let the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships know of any outside scholarship(s) you anticipate as well as other exemptions or waivers you may receive.

Also, the Student Loan Network provides a Free Online Scholarship Guide and eBook which can help you find more scholarships through the Internet.

Honors College

The Honors College provides a highly personalized and challenging college experience that also includes a four-year, premier scholarship package that covers tuition, fees, housing, a partial meal plan, and money for textbooks for a select group of high-achieving freshman students. The typical Honors College student has the following characteristics: ACT score of 27 and/or SAT score of 1200 (critical reading and math) and graduate in the top 10% of their high school class. For more information, email HonorsCollege@tamu-commerce.edu.

Regents’ Scholars Program

The Regents’ Scholars Program (RSP) provides outstanding freshmen a four-year scholarship towards tuition and fees. The program allows students to pursue a bachelor’s degree in their chosen field while developing their awareness of international issues and cultural contrasts. In addition, RSP provides students with leadership training and experience that will allow them to have a positive impact upon the lives of others on campus, and in their future profession. Thirty students each year are admitted to the program. For more information, email RegentsScholars@tamu-commerce.edu.

First Year Leadership Class

The First Year Leadership Class (FLC) Program equips students with the personal leadership skills and education necessary to lead their class through the upcoming four years and creates a closer-knit Texas A&M University-Commerce community. FLC allows participants to take an active role in the campus and Commerce community. Although leadership is often defined by the offices one holds and the recognition one attains, FLC focuses upon leadership as taking the initiative to better one’s surroundings and being an agent of positive change on campus and beyond. FLC is a different take on a leadership class. It is not a series of lectures and you will never sit in a classroom. Rather, students enjoy a blend of fun, hands-on activities and eye-opening discussions. This is a competitive scholarship opportunity ($1250 per fall/spring semesters for freshman year) for our top student leaders.  For more information, please email FLC@tamu-commerce.edu.

Transfer Scholarships

Transfer students can be considered for two types of transfer scholarships, which include the General and Phi Theta Kappa programs. We offer scholarship programs which ensure that each student (international or out of state resident), who receives a competitive academic scholarship of at least $1000, will receive an out of state tuition waiver. Students who begin in the spring semester, may not qualify for this tuition waiver. Funding is limited, so do not delay! You must be admitted and meet criteria to be considered for these and other scholarships.
