Programs

The English Language Institute (ELI) at Texas A&M University-Commerce offers students planning to study at U.S. universities opportunities to enjoy a variety of cultural and educational activities while improving their language skills.

Full-time students who are F1 visa holders will enroll in the Academic English Program which uses academic content to teach English.

Part-time student, may hold an F2 or similar visa, may only enroll in the American English and Culture Program. The classes use recreational English to teach English.

Students in both programs are encouraged to participate in the Conversation Partner Program. The ELI provides opportunities for students to interact with native English speaking university students in the afternoons. Student should make an appointment with a conversation partner in the ELI Office, HL317.
